Seems like a very valid concern if the wire is deployed near an engine with aluminum parts...

The concern about leaking liquid alloy is a valid one; gallium will diffuse into many other metals, structurally weakening them.  Search around for some interesting videos of gallium being used to turn an aluminum soda can into the consistency of a wet paper towel! It's possible that it has a higher affinity for the co-alloy, making this a non-issue, but I haven't a clue if that's the case.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
