We are working on a proto system which utilizes 16Tx & 20 Rx antennas. And it is based on Large MIMO technology. With Large MIMO, placing huge number of antennas (as of now, it is 2 or 4 at max) on UE will be a challange.
When I look at 3G and 4G I see centralized telecom-based communications. By that metric I would expect 5G to be more of the same, but this article includes several peer-to-peer decentralized technologies and applications. Is Bluetooth or Wifi really a 5G technology? I would expect 5G to be limited to specific WAN technologies with defined gateways to WLAN and PAN technologies.
Hi Nice to read your article. Just curious on how most countries today, with the present power/energy generation capacity (which is falling short of demand in many places), can meet the energy demands for the 5G networks.
I foresee an explosion in the energy consumption for the following reasons.
1. exponential growth in the number of devices connected to network
2. Higher speeds
3. More people
