I am still not clear about the depth sensor part. What should be the reference for depth? If we define a reference then simple sound wave or radio wave can be use for depth. But if it is more complex then i donot know.

3D depth map can be done either through laser scanning or stereo vision. Any other way?

Depth sensing will no doubt open up a new market place for wide variety of application. I can't help to have my hand on the phone, starting apps around the sensor.

Looks like smartphones are going to do much more work than just calling and accessng internet. In many ways thats good as people dont have to carry many devices. One device can do all the work.

It is good to see the 3D TV craze being replaced by this new wave 3D sensing mobile. 

In my opinion such mobile phones will have all the ingradients for developing some intersting Apps than what a 3D TV could offer to the viewers.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
