Let me clarify, saturated animal fats and and some polyunsaturated fats.

Fish oil, olive oil cocoa butter (saturated but works differently in the body) and cocnut oil can be beneficial when used sensibly.

a ban on trans fats, a dramatic reduction in sugar and fat consumption, eliminating heavily processed foods from your diet, no smoking and regular exercise will do more to reduce heart attack than any surgical approaches. Of all of these the most important is the regular exercise followed closely by stopping smoking.

Sadly the general belief is that any amount of abuse can be undone with a pill or a procedure, and it's not until it's too late that we realise this isn't true.

There can be many remedies for heart-attacks and detection and first aid are among the best measures to save life. If during initial phase of heart attack the device can give shock to heart so that patient can buy some precious time then this in itselft is good enough innovation.

You may be right, if the research and development is going in right direction solving the problem of heart. Otherwise the way stents are being misused none of the technology will be helpful.

Chris Newmarker and Brian Buntz did some excellent work on this piece which covers updates on nano-sized heart attack detectors and pill-sized pacemakers. Cool stuff!

This technology looks to be very promsing and may usher a new field of health monitoring nano implants.

While this technology moves from the reaearch labs to the actual manufacturing, the revolution will happen from "wearables" to "wear-ins" I guess!

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling.
