Time for sensible rules

This story is timely, given the court ruling last week that dismissed a large FAA fine against a photographer who used a small drone to take commercial aerial photos. There are several low cost drones on the market and RC model plane & helicopter enthusiasts are already early adopters. Many of these come equipped with GoPro camera mounts, GPS, electronic stabilization and other "smart" features that make them well-suited for photography -- commercial or otherwise. It's time for some sensible rules that protect privacy and also protect the rights of individuals to use this technology.

There are numerous avenues for use of drones for non-military use.

I believe the courier company will be the first to use them for faster point to point delivery.

The Pizza delivery houses should be the next

And some big corporations would like to havetheir personal fleet of drones for office to office delivery of important documents and goods and may be even people?

The authorities should foresee all the security threats, privacy violation issues and traffic managment related issues before opening up drones for public use.
