Interesting breakout RF transceiver market share.

Breakout by technology 2G/3G/4G twould be something to look forward.

We did not find any WiFi functionality in AP parts.  They were standalone parts/modules that had only WiFi/Bluetooth/FM, WiFi/Bluetooth or WiFi only parts.

This is based on a global sample of devices and only a snap shot of the nearly 350 devices we tore down over the 12 month period.

Thanks for your commnent. We kept this article at the package level. We do decap to offer die analysis as well, but those are not reflected here. And you are correct the vast majority of Murata are Broadcom ICs.

FIY. Murata is a MCM module manufacture but not a chip manufacture. They use mix of Marvell, TI or Broadcomm chip for their MCM module.  Some of Murata share would be added to Broadcomm share.

Your article does not mention which market these teardowns come from? It looks to be the US market, could you be more specific please?

Joel-

Very interesting piece. Wondering, the WiFi that you uncovered are those discrete chips or integrated Wifi with the AP?

Also is there a list of what products were used in the teardown?
