I'm puzzled by the Toshiba / SanDisk lawsuit against Hynix. Both the EETimes (USA) and the EETimes (Europe) articles indicate that Hynix settled such a case with Toshina in 2004 with a cross-licensing agreement. If the technology was invented in 1987 (and therefore presumably has lost patent protection), why is a new lawsuit being filed now when a cross-licensing agreement is in place?
