My favorite project was called NINDY since the boss was always checking on schedule, NINDY = No Its Not Done Yet (thank you Abby)

Debugging a software Bus Interaction Module I found the Bus Output task, called BIMBO (thank you Brian)

Engineers have a GREAT sense of humour!

That does have a certain ring to it -- I'll have to remember that... I'm sure it will come in handy one day :-)

The Wamba board

I also designed a very simple board called the "WAN Mini-Backplane" which replaced a couple of cables that connected WAN I/O modules with a base board.  I called it the "Wamba" board for short.  Wamba is my favorite character from Ivanhoe.  He's the court jester -- his full name is "Wamba, son of Witless".  Great name for a board with no intelligence whatsoever.

[Actually the character is very clever.  Pax vobiscum.]

Not "packed", but ready to wash and wear.  I'm "local" so no need to pack anything other than something to read on the way to San Jose.

The MÜSLI card

I once designed a 16-channel serial interface card that did both HDLC and Async protocols.  I proudly named it the "Multichannel Universal Serial Line Interface" or MÜSLI, like the breakfast cereal.

Like many of you, I was saddened to hear the news of Leonard Nimoy's death. His Star Trek character Mr. Spock was an inspiration to many of us who entered technical fields.
