In addition to "cotton candy," "candy floss," and "candyfloss," some people call it "fairy floss"

@kfield: Seriously (if you can be serious, Max), what do you call that fluffy stuff?

We used to call it "Cotton Candy" in england -- I think I've also heard the term "spun sugar"

@kfield: What do you call the delightful confection that this engineering is stuffing his face in?

How about "Beard Misery Waiting To Happen"?

Uhm, well I see if I'd actually looked at the article that Max did already post some great images of the booth, so let me share one of the refreshments on offer there!

Now, here's a trivia question: What do you call the delightful confection that this engineering is stuffing his face in?

I once had a contributor on DesignCon Community who wrote about how he dislikes the gimmicks and that's why he likes DesignCon. Solid, practical technical content without the gimmicks. IEEE-sponsored conferences are generally free of gimmicks. In fact, the same people would come if there were no exhibits at all. They come for the conference.

@MeasurementBlues: Some engineers really don't like gimmicks at shows. they prefer the technical conference.

Fortunately, I don;t know any of those sorts of engineers -- I only know the fun and interesting ones LOL
