Pcduino is the most versatile, powerful and robust development platform I have used. I have used it in robotics, signage, electronic control and various other applications. This is the development platform you are looking for. I have dropped, left it in the sun, burnt traces etc. and it still works... From beginner to professional this will have the power to support your ideas. This platform is only limited by the size of your own imagination. Android is also available as an OS ;)
