As our lives become more and more busy, we lose patience for managing the trivial. Managing updates to countless IoT devices is going to become problematic as I previously noted at 'Thingularity' Triggers Security Warnings' (http://www.eetimes.com/document.asp?doc_id=1321737, April 2, 2014). I suspect that failed and inaccurate devices will become commonplace. I believe the IoT designers need to devote serious effort to reliable and seamless software update protocols for their devices. With luck, their successful solutions will be migrated to personal computers and improve their reliability as well.
