If you decide to try any of these apps as a result of your reading this column, I'd really appreciate it if you were to post a comment telling me what you think.

Max,

Sorry, currently I've been forced into management and cautioned not to think.  Maybe when I'm back to being an engineer, I'll be allowed to think again.

I feel your pain LOL

Not that there's anything wrong with managers per se -- some of my best friends are managers -- it's just that you wouldn't want your daughter to marry one LOL

Haven't tried any of these yet but the Room is definitely something I've had my eye on for some time.

I'd add these to the list:
Best Tower Defense Game – Kingdom Rush

Best Physics Based Puzzle – Where's My Water

Best RPG  - Angry Birds Epic

I think you will love it -- also, I cannot recommend Machinarium and Momument Valley highly enough -- I will be downloading "Where's My Water" when I get home this evening LOL

Candy Crush didn't make your list? Or is it too insipid to even call it a game?

I've heard the name, but never looked at it -- I don't really know what it is, but from the tidbits I've heard I don;t thhink it's for me.

What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
