IMO this is merely the end of the beginning. I have read that large patent suits are almost always appealed and to some extent (IANAL) the purpose of the first trial is to establish grounds for appeal rather than to produce a meaningful result. I think this a reason Judge Koh has imposed such strict time limits.
All this will end when Apple and/or Samsung runs out of money. Meanwhile, Apple has done a great job of making itself known as a Patent Aggressor instead of a creator of Cool Products and has brought Samsung products into the public eye better than any Samsung marketing campaign could have done.
What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
