I had no idea that the low leakage MLCC X7R dielectric capacitors are so costly!! That is crazy!! What makes these caps so costly and difficult to get any idea? Due to precision manufacturing process cost?
Btw...I never came across suggestions of using capacitor to increase battery life. Thanks for the tips that I should not think about that option even if somebody is suggesting that. Now another thought that comes to mind...we keep some small value capacitors as filters, decoupling capacitors and sometimes we use those abundantly if board space permits, without optimizing as needed. I take a lesson that I should be cautions to make optimal usage of caps in the battery powered circuits.
