We live in an age of transparency right?  Duane and I have been scheming for our next project that we want to present at next years show.  I am excited for this one.  I have really been looking at some of the mechanicals of it, and I think that we might be able to offer a really nice product to the high level hobbiest.  There will be a lot of learning for all involved.  I think that I will get a blog post out in the next few weeks on the kickoff of our effort.

Karen, I can see what you are doing, you are trying to bribe me for next year.  I think that I will have a pretty good topic that a lot of people will be interested in for next year.  I can also do a variation on the quadcopter one as well.

It really was a lot of fun, I do look forward to next year.

I attended Adam's quadcopter session, and 80 people were transfixed as he went through his presentation. I wanted to share some of the comments from the audience:

Do it again, but longer!

Good stuff. I showed up late and there wasn't any more seats.

Thanks Adam for the really good presentation on the basics of designing a quadcopter!

Because I had not received the little quads I had ordered from the Kickstarter, I had to punt and use a preassembled one.  I just got the Kickstarter quads last week and I plan to do a writeup on their initial design, and then the mods that I am going to do with them.

I was happy though as the guys from Rohm loaned me their quad as well to use as an example in the presentation.  Their help was top notch.

There were many other people that I met that I did not mention that deserve some mention.  The group at Teledyne Lecroy was pretty fantastic.  They walked me through their product line, more on a level of the differences in the internals and their target markets.  Dan, Chris, and Hilary were great.

ST Micro was also very helpful.  It seems like the end of the year might be an exciting time for them in the embedded space.  Greg was able to give me some wonderful information.

I cannot forget to mention the TI group.  Both Jason and his demo of the BeagleBone Black for the Great Gedget Smackdown and Trey in his presentation of some of their DSP chips and their motor control applications.  I can see some exciting projects in my future there.

On top of that there were many other vendors and people that I met.  I also met people from companies like Amazon and Ford, as well as from as far away as Australia.  It truly was a fantastic experience.  I am still sure that there are about 50 other people that I have not mentioned.

Hi Adam -- I heard so many good reports about your quadcopter presentation -- I want to build one of these myself -- I really wish I'd been able to attend -- is thsi one you built yourself from the ground up, or was it a kit?
