@Max

(10x +y) - (x+y) = 9x

look at all the multiples of 9 in the number symbol cross reference table.

@Randa11: I love this online mind reading trick...

Very clever! (especially the way they try to get you to give them money to see how it's done :-)

I love this online mind reading trick:-

It's easy to see how it works but it always gives me kick whenever I show it to someone.

@Rich: If the clockwise and counterclockwise coils are not in perfect balance then the time machine tends to drift off into the future or past, which makes it really hard to keep parked.

That's what the parking coil is for!!!

Yes, those tempus fugit coils are a pain to balance. If the clockwise and counterclockwise coils are not in perfect balance then the time machine tends to drift off into the future or past, which makes it really hard to keep parked.

There's a term for that imbalance, btw. It's "the tempus fidgets."

@betajet: "A mind is a terrible thing to read."

Good one -- almost as good as "Work, the curse of the drinking classes"

I also like "Quarks, the dreams that stuff is made of"

@Duane: ...anywhere non-complex silent communication is required...

My mom used to be good at that ...

Here favorite form of non-complex (reasonably silent) communication was to give me a swift slap on the back of my head LOL

(This once had unfortunate concequences when I wasn't expecting it and hadn't taken the "brace" position and I ended up face-first in a plate of spaghetti bolognaise)

@Rich: How long before full-body suits allow you to experience a full range of sensations in a form of telepresence?

At the moment my time machine is in the shop having it's tempus fugit coils re-ballanced -- but as soon as it's up and running again I'll go and investigate the answer to your question.

@Rich: There is an Asimov story in the I, Robot series...

The amazing thing to me is that, for almost any sentient robot-based scenario you want to consider, you can say "There is an Asimov story that relates to this" :-)
