@tty2: This would increase even more now that other forms of technology are coming on board (that includes the Internet of Things).

@daleste: What do flash engineers really need in terms of qualifications? Can engineers who have graduated from Computer Science and Electrical Engineering departments be equally eligible for the posts of Flash Engineer?

@zeeglen: That is more than unlikely because the supply and demand problem would forever exist in this market, and as long as that exists, engineers won't find trouble in finding jobs.

Micron is currently the 4th largest semiconductor manufacturer in the world, after Intel, Samsung, and QUALCOMM. The fact that they are running wild in the SSD market is quite a shock since there are many engineering talents around the world, some more qualified than the other. I think Micron should hire off other semiconductor companies that are less in size to them.

Really a good news for engineers who are entering the market with some good understanding of the flash products.

Exactly, fortunately the memory devices remain quite stable in our computers and other electronic devices.

"The solid-state drive (SSD) business has literally exploded"

Well, figuratively... ;)
