Yes... After working 30+ years with maintenance and development I am still waiting to see the other kind. I believe it belongs to the realm of Yeti and Chupacabra.

@Andrewier: I am involved in a project with a very TIGHT deadline (isn't always so?)

I was going to say: "Is there any other kind?" LOL

Unfortunately, no. I am involved in a project with a very TIGHT deadline (isn't always so?) and can't afford to be out of Rio de Janeiro (where I live) even for a couple of days until september at least. But if for a twist of Mother Nature you happen to pass by here, I would gladly assist you if needed. Just leave a msg. Rgds, AW.

@Alvie: ...you can always give me a call and I'll translate for you...

Better still, why don't you come out to ESC Brazil and translate for me in real-time? LOL

Just a small correction:

Cerveza is a Spanish word. While people will understand you here (because the sound is quite similar), to be precise, the correct word for beer in Portuguese is CERVEJA. The "ja" as in Japan. And in most steakhouses, they will serve "chopp" (draft beer) instead.

Be welcome and have a nice stay in Brazil!

@David: Should be something in the lines of: "Não comprarei este software, ele "é" crashado!".

The original should be "Não comprarei este disco, ele está riscado". :)

@Alvie - Muito Obrigado!

""I will not buy this software, it "is" crashed!""

How do you say that in Portuguese?   I worked for a while years ago in Mozambique and my Portuguese was coming along nicely, then I changed jobs....  it's VERY rusty now (Falo pouco pouco pouco Portugues....)

NEXT UPCOMING BROADCAST
In conjunction with unveiling of EE Times’ Silicon 60 list, journalist & Silicon 60 researcher Peter Clarke hosts a conversation on startups in the electronics industry. One of Silicon Valley's great contributions to the world has been the demonstration of how the application of entrepreneurship and venture capital to electronics and semiconductor hardware can create wealth with developments in semiconductors, displays, design automation, MEMS and across the breadth of hardware developments. But in recent years concerns have been raised that traditional venture capital has turned its back on hardware-related startups in favor of software and Internet applications and services. Panelists from incubators join Peter Clarke in debate.
