Taiwan. Korea and China will make Lemonade our of lemon leaves....if Labor does not play US companies should ONLY build in US.  This avoids corporations to park the money out side and slowly lose the edge in manufaturing in US.

Well, in addition to the bottom line (read: profits!) based decision making, companies like Intel definitely make strategic ones that give it competitive advantages. The flash memory business has undergone drastic changes due to pricing pressures. Intel's move to put money some where else for future-proofing with minimal upfront investment is not too surprising.

Asian countries are makind lemonade out of anything related to lemon as other did not think it through. US and Europe was so busy making money out of thin air via Wall Street that they thought its not worth investing their money in manufacturing and now they are paying the price.

i am not sure I get the gist of the story, why are we refering to this as making lemonade out of lemons?...looks to me like a normal complex decision process in what to do with the fab, most semi CEO face similar decisions all the time...Kris
