In my opinion this will be the real application for "Wearable" technology. The technology going into the dress material that can chnage the color, shade depending upon the ambient light and the mood of the wearer , can become warm or cold depending upon the outside temperature, can generate the desired scent without the need to apply perfume and so on.

 

So the Haute Couture has now new challenges to its creativity!

The first page shows a woman with purple hair with some tubing across her shoulder. Those are the 3D printed skins which have tubing to allow ink to flow through.

An Autodesk employee made a great suggestion about integrating fashion and medicine: what if the skins with tubing were used to deliver chemotherapy to cancer patients?

Very nichy Susan...I am thinking something with a broad appeal...for example clothing that changes color or texture...embedded solar panel (even if very low efficiency) for display etc

Got to love this human body symbiosis...when you think about it it is amazing that high-tech has never tried to invade fashion...but we have got all the gadgets and technology to do so! (slick covers for smart phones don't count here)

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
