What is medical revolution?

After reading the article, I have one main question to consult.

What is the medical revotion in specific?

Just add some sensors on devices which are connected to your body, after ADC to get data, then sending them to mobile phone or other monitor instruments through Wifi or other wireless way? Its principle is the same as intellectual home applicance?

For me, I like nRF51822, a product from Nordic Semi. It offers better performance in power usage than all these alternatives. It beats BT in energy management. However, the system integration seems complex

Yes, the next phase of mobile will be ecosystem since hardware will be commoditized. The incentives to buy any device will go beyond the typical communication use. That means getting more inside that device will be strategic for these companies.

They are called lifestyle disease which means disease for life. The earlier we have technologies to help these people simplify their lives, the better. It is slam dunk idea that innovation in technology must change the way people live with their ailments.

Do not worry, they will figure out how to reject them with their pockets. Provided government does not buy them and give them free, the best idea will win.

Strategy for medical sensors

Key questions to address are how many points on the body require sensors, how should they be connected, and should the systems be designed for mobile use for for local hospital use. Standard electrocardiograms require sensors placed at multiple positions on the body and traditionally a wiring harness connects them to the recorder. Should Samsung develop a lightweight harness or should they use BlueTooth / WiFi to convey data to the "hub"? Basic monitoring of mobile individuals can be accomplished with one or two sensor positions but detailed medical data (during hospital treatment) will require more.

It is part of their strategy. They study, wait and then when they decide to move, they use scale to knock everyone down. They do not need to invent anything. Just use scale and efficiency to win. That is the Samsung Way.

I forgot to mention that I met a Wipro CTO at the event. He said his company in India is also working on platforms for consumer medical wearables, generally trying to use off the shelf hardware as much as possible and get prototypes into clinical trials.
