You are a clever one, but shouldn't you get back to work now?

Dear Jack (and I'm the first to admit that I don't know Jack),

This is very exciting, and I have a number of technical questions:
  • Will it be possible to pursue Agile Software Engineering with SLOTH?
  • Presumably all its pointers dangle?
  • Does it incorporate lazy evaluation?
  • What is the resolution of its sleep(3) library function?

No need for an immediate reply, manana is good enough.

...all symbols BETWEEN A and Z,...I mean no characters BETWEEN 0x61 and 0x7a...

So we ARE allowed to use A/I/Z and a/i/z.

Make sure that the requirments documented is updated...

Aren't we all to analytical and literal? ;-)

Seems they just merged the (real computer) languages Mumps and Brain F***...

Guess if your Goggle anything will make news.

None of the embedded systems programmers I asked to comment on Apple SWIFT would comment on it. Not enough info out there yet.

@Wnderer: ...why bash Google for Apple launching a proprietary programming language...

The story needs a victum/target -- why not Google? You wouldn't use Microsoft as the target for this story because it woudl be difficult to seperate fact from fiction LOL

It's funny, but why bash Google for Apple launching a proprietary programming language? I don't use Apple stuff and I still think of them as megolomaniac control freaks. Swift just adds to that. I'm still a fan of the open architecture of the IBM PC and the huge complicated ecosystem it spawned.

As an engagement present, my wife to be got me a new portable S-C typewriter that came with a typing course (on LP records!).  Didn't help.... but I did all my own typing and eventually got to using multiple fingers on each hand (but not in the "orthodox" style for sure).  Did all my college papers and theses that way (with carbon paper copies! which I still have in my files), did about 50wpm peak speed.  Not any more.... PC keyboards (especially laptops) just don't have the right feel to me.

@mhrackin: I do lay claim to being one of the world's worst typists...

In one of her careers, my mom taught shorthand, typing, and business studies at college. When I was ~16 she begged me to learn to type. This was the early 1970s before the widespread availability of computers -- I thought that as an engineer I would never need to type.

One of my books was 872 pages ... every word typed with the same two fingers...
