Wonder how this will bode for some of the current wearable technolology players like FitBit. Will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

This is going to be testing time for Apple. But they certainly are in the good condition considering the marketing they got for i health.

The revolution of the SmartPhone was to smoothly integrate multiple functions into a single portable device with the ability to add new APPs to meet new needs. We don't need multiple smart watches for different functions.

In last decade or so, APPLE has been able to bring the technology closer to users simply because of the intuitive interface. They delivered quality products with amazing reliability. Hope that they could come up with a smartwatch which can augment smartphone functions rather than just be another interface of smartphone.

Apple has never disappointed with its revolutionary products in last decade or so as Jobs was at helm. This time and product will be different with Tim leading the design team.

I think Apple is smart to focus on health & fitness apps first, especially since it appears they will be doing more than just monitoring heart rate.

Even if Apple is late they will make sure their product is classy and way more customer friendly. They spend time on creating  brand management too. So that it becomes a pride thing to possess.

Yep, Apple is always late, but usually this is and advantage for them. They can then change the market in the direction they want...

Apple is late to the market.  We will have to wait and see if they are able to implement new features that will differentiate their product.

I hope they make smart wearables something like bracelets for kids. And of course it must be authorised and allowed by school authorities. Parents can get details of the kid well being. And then of course one can think of Barbie or Dora or Diego kind of accessories for holiday times.
