Yes, but it may be marginal competition. The real problem is coming from Asia. As we saw the steel industry go in U.S/Wester Europe. most of these companies will be challenged by globalization. M&A will help but the global competitive market will not disappear.

Consolidation is the name of the game. IoT might be the big drive behind this.

It would have been better to sell one outright than Mergers. The industry is so competitive that even post-merger, they are very small to challenge the big guys.

one has to aknowledge this are the 2 pan-european companies perfoming above the average, worlwide, in the semiconductor business.

ams processes & ip & pdk does *more than moore* better than any other foundry

dialog assp offering is state of the art

fully agree

europe need other big player in semiconductor market; I believe this merge can do great things if well managed

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
