No question, Orphan Black is the top show in Max's list, it's only a tough choice against Doctor Who.

One good aspect of all these shows is that they have short seasons ("series" in the UK) so one can alternate on streaming a couple of them each week in 1's or 2's as they are not all running at the same time.  (I'm a cord-cutter, don't have cable.)  My own rotation, besides the two shows mentioned, are Continuum (we get the first run in Canada), Defiance, The Last Ship, and 24 (the recent 12 hour run).  The only regular network show (20-22 episodes) that I have followed recently is Grimm, initially tuning in out of curiosity because it is set in Portland, Oregon.

The only show on Max's list that I don't watch, but which I could have liked, is Falling Skies.  Into season 4, it's too far along to catch up.

I have been flying overseas a fair bit lately so that's how I get my fix of House of Cards and the first few episodes of Stephen Merchant's cringingly funny Hello, Ladies.  One of my constraints is that my show choice is constrained by free streaming on channel sites (no Netflix, no HBO/SHO) or other legal means like airlines.

Tonight, I am going to try out The Strain, which debuted last week. :)

@betajet ...steer clear of The Saragossa Manuscript...

A co-worker of mine thought that was the best movie made and got a bunch of us to go see it when it was in the theater once a year (this theater had a different old movie every night). The first time I was totally confused, the second time I followed most of it and the third time I was mildly disappointed that they didn't return to the original scene. I didn't realize there was a book but I shouldn't be suprised.

@nexusone1984: Yes, I should have said Fox TV in conjucntion with BBC.

I had so much hope for that film ... until I saw it ... I mean, it was OK, but that was it ... just OK ...

But the 2005 relaunch was everything I coudl have hoped ... I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

@betamax: Sorry Max, I'm all for "willing suspension of disbelief", but there are limits :-)

Hey -- bald suited him -- I can't imagine him any other way -- would you rather he'd been sporting an "Einsteinian Mop"

What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Are the design challenges the same as with embedded systems, but with a little developer- and IT-skills added in? What do engineers need to know? Rick Merritt talks with two experts about the tools and best options for designing IoT devices in 2016. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
