The challenge is how to police the abusive use of the drones. Even though privacy is fading, I definitely will not feel comfortable seeing a drone just outside of my window.

In safety point of view, what if it hit a electric pole, a pedestrian. If it flies near an airport, it could cause distraction to any plane that is taking off or landing. 

In my opinion, FAA plays a very important role in regulating drones. Privacy and safety shall be carefully considered and balanced with the benefit.

The small plastic quadricopter drones that have become so popular have far more in common with model airplanes than with military style UAVs, and FAA regulations should recognize that fact. The whole point of these things is low altitude aerial photography, and I fail to understand how air traffic safety is affected by the images being of a commercial nature rather than not for profit.

Allowing drones to fly anywhere is just crazy (airplane accidents, spying on neighbours, running into electrical power lines etc)
