@Max: I am very impressed with your ingenuity in creating these jigs -- your ideas are going to make my life so much easier when I build my own 8x8x8 cube (as soon as I clear some of my other projects out of the way :-)

Thanks for the kind comments. Maybe I can help with some ideas for your cube being you are using different LED's to me.

I LOVE your videos -- I know how much time creating this sort of thing takes, so I really appreciate all the effort you've put into them -- as far as I am concerned they are invaluable when it comes to really understanding the nitty-gritty construction techniques you talk about in your columns.

@Steve: ...I also tried some 0.7mm diameter stainless steel dress-making pins...

Is this another hobby we know nothing about? Remind me again, what's the name of that club you go to at the weekends? LOL

NEXT UPCOMING BROADCAST
In conjunction with unveiling of EE Times’ Silicon 60 list, journalist & Silicon 60 researcher Peter Clarke hosts a conversation on startups in the electronics industry. One of Silicon Valley's great contributions to the world has been the demonstration of how the application of entrepreneurship and venture capital to electronics and semiconductor hardware can create wealth with developments in semiconductors, displays, design automation, MEMS and across the breadth of hardware developments. But in recent years concerns have been raised that traditional venture capital has turned its back on hardware-related startups in favor of software and Internet applications and services. Panelists from incubators join Peter Clarke in debate.
