As the IoT devices evolve, there has to be a parallel effort making the security norms more stringent and the commercial IoT devices shall need to comply with the same in order to be saleable. But, I am not sure how the tiny devices which would ideally run without battery could take the additional burden of security algorithms.

These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Are the design challenges the same as with embedded systems, but with a little developer- and IT-skills added in?
