This is just more speculation from someone who does not know. And I'm willing to bet he's wrong on at least one of, if not all of, the ideas that it will have a 400 ppi screen ("keeping up with Samsung" in minor pixel density differences is not important to Apple) will use wireless charging (especially with a "cradle" rather than a pad) or use ultrasonic communication.
I agree that magnetic resonance would be a more elegant solution, but more engineering work since induction is so well understood. If Apple waits until the iPhone Air or iWatch introduction to add wireless charging, as Edelson mentioned they might, it could be because of that extra engineering effort.
I'm curious what you all think about the potential use of magnetic inductive charging with the iPhone 6. Apple already changed its power cable on the 5, so are users primed for another change? I'd hope Apple would take the magnetic resonance charge instead.
Yes, many of the facts according to Edelson's predictions have been cited elsewhere, but also contradicted by other rumors. And by the way the 1Gbyte "bump" was meant to mean going from 1Gbyte to 2Gbyte, thanks for that one!
The iPhone architecture and the operating system is a very low latency system, because 1ghz processors work in comparison to the 2ghz processors used by different vendors. Most vendors use the android and on top of that use a customized UI which the Apple does not, and which favours apple's case. Apple products are overpowered by android standards.
Samsung showed a decline of sales in the western markets as well as home markets, the reason being declining quality of phones. Moreover it loses its fan bases everyday because the Galaxy S5 was released with different versions intended for separate parts of the world with the same or similar price tag which caused the uproar in fans.
Apple will probably succeed in the eastern markets especially when China is a partner and asked Apple to tend to their requests.
If Apple uses ultrasonic communication then that would be a nice change but then all the IOT products for any user would have to be manufactured by Apple. One cannot hope that the iWatch will work with other IOT grids as well.
Apple has never sold on price. It sells on features and user experience. Yes certainly cost comes into any decision, but what Apple is all about is user experience. With the small screens, that user experience has started to lack which needs to be addressed.
In terms of hardware speed, performance, etc., who, that is a current iPhone5 user, has ever considered their phone "slow". Any slowness I have attributed to any phones of late have been purely software "issues".
I am not sure they are going to hit on all cylinders with scratch free. Impact resistant is a bigger one and will sapphire provide that?
