Price is a big concern for the consumer and SSD should continue to gain ground as it's price per Gbyte continues to drop.

@DrFPGA, i too think that cloud storage will enable the adoption of SSD as PC will not require to have large capacity harddisk but will need fast data transfer and longevity as major requirements for harddrives.

consumer education about SSD

I think that today's consumer need not to be educated about SSD. Most of the PC users know that SSD has pros and cons over spinning harddisk but sometime the price is the major hurdle to adopt SSD.

SSD and cloud

Seems like as cloud services grow SSD is the way to go for local storage. Limited need to defrag when bulk storage is in the cloud. Need intelligent cache however so you don't end up with even more thrashing than defragging.

Ultra II is a very good option for the persons looking for SSD based HDD Solution. But the advancements in the traditional spinning HDDs does not make everyone thinking for it. But the improvement in the speed will be very helpful for Video, Audio and Huge data driven applications.
