Re: White Goods Consolidation Drives Power Deals

Seems like a plausible explanation for consolidation in the power electronics industry... given the trend toward more urbanization globally. At 45%, China alone will see nearly half its population living in urban areas by 2020. This trend has to be balanced by commensurate growth in alternative energy which is another area for power electronics.

White goods comes with many attractive features. But quality and reliability are some time compromised. It will be nice to have expensive but very rugged and reliable products.

Home appliances market is ever growing. IN television market some specific models have seen dip in the business but others keep growing. 3D TV didnt click. But washing machines, fridge are doing good. Its better to have few players in home appliance market than to have so many and create ewaste.
