The Technical Excellence Award will be presented during the organization's open Member meeting at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in Anaheim, Calif. on June 15, Accellera said.

Accellera, an organization devoted to electronic design industry standards, said it would select a single contributor to the organization's standards development process as the 2005 recipient of the award, which is given in recognition of outstanding achievements by technical committee members. All Accellera technical subcommittee members are eligible for the award.

Last year, Dr. Havlicek, principal staff scientist at Freescale Semiconductor was the inaugural recipient of the award.
