Rosetta offers 'power-aware' modeling |

Editor's note: Rosetta is a system-level constraint language under development by the Accellera Rosetta Committee. It lets users model requirements from multiple design domains, including timing, power, cost, and packaging. At the Design Automation Conference the week of June 10, the Rosetta Committee will present a "power-aware" design demonstration that shows how Rosetta can be used to model and analyze constraints early in the design process.

Perry Alexander is an associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science and principal investigator at the University of Kansas Information and Telecommunication Technology Center. He currently chairs the Accellera Rosetta Standards Committee and is chair of the IEEE Engineering of Computer-Based Systems Technical Committee.
Grant Martin is a fellow in the labs of Cadence Design Systems. Prior to Cadence, where he has been for 7 years, Grant worked for Burroughs in Scotland for 6 years and Nortel/BNR in Canada for 10 years. Grant is a co-author of the book "Surviving the SOC Revolution: A Guide to Platform-Based Design", published by Kluwer Academic Publishers, in November of 1999, and a co-author of the new book "System Design with SystemC", published by Kluwer in May of 2002.
