SAN FRANCISCO Synplicity Inc. and Achronix Semiconductor Corp. have signed a multi-year development and OEM agreement around providing EDA technology for Achronix multi-gigahertz FPGAs, the companies said Thursday (Oct. 19).
Under the terms of the agreement, Synplicity (Sunnyvale, Calif.) will optimize its Synplify Pro FPGA synthesis tool for the Achronix devices. Designers will be able to leverage Synplify Pro with Achronix's programmable devices, creating opportunities for new types of products, according to the companies.
"Through this agreement, we will be able to provide industry-leading FPGA synthesis support for our multi-GHz FPGAs in a timely fashion," said Yousef Khalilollahi, vice president of marketing for Achronix (San Jose, Calif.), in a statement.
Next year, Achronix will bundle the optimized version of Synplify Pro into its integrated design environment, the companies said.
