EE Times Europe

LONDON — RTL Compiler from Cadence Design Systems Inc. (San Jose, Calif.) was the clear favorite EDA synthesis tool in a poll of EE Times Europe readers, beating off products from Synopsys Inc. (Mountain View, Calif.), Magma Design Automation Inc. and Incentia Design Systems Inc., both of Santa Clara, California.

Some 55 percent of respondents voted for RTL Compiler, almost twice as many as voted for Design Compiler from Synopsys, which received 29 percent of the vote. Blast Create was voted best synthesis tool by 10 percent of the respondents with DesignCraft achieving 6 percent.

The vote is a "straw poll" with a self-selecting audience of EE Times Europe readers

The next poll asks readers to give their opinion on the much forecast recession. Readers can vote in the left-hand column of the EE Times Europe home page.
