PARIS Radisys Corp. has teamed with Aricent and 6Wind SA to deliver application-ready ATCA platforms for the Long Term Evolution (LTE) Evolved Packet Core.
Radisys said the aim of this collaboration was to develop its ATCA Promentum platform, an LTE signaling stack and efficient data path software in one, fully-integrated solution that reduces development risk for telecom equipment manufacturers and decreases time-to-market by as much as 18 months.
Radisys said the pre-packaged platform solution combines Radisys' ATCA hardware with 6Wind's Datapath software and Aricent's LTE stack framework.
Aricent noted that its LTE EPC software frameworks are complete, pre-integrated control plane software modules suitable for LTE Macro/Micro EPC nodes, supporting essential Serving Gateway, Packet Gateway and Mobility Management Entity capabilities.
In a view to have a better understanding of 6Wind's Datapath and the benefits it brought to RadiSys' LTE-ready platform solution, EE Times engaged a discussion with 6Wind and Radisys. They jointly responded to the questions.
First of all, 6Wind (Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France) specified that its Datapath software is part of the 6WindGate architecture.
6WindGate implementation, the French company added, provides a validated Fast Path packet processing, including IPv4 and IPv6 forwarding, virtual routing (VRF), Link Aggregation, VLAN, GRE encapsulation, IP in IP, GTP, filtering and firewall, IPsec, QoS, IP Reassembly and ROHC.
