SAN JOSE, Calif. — Synplicity Inc. has apparently sped up the timeline for transitioning Gary Meyers to his new post as Synplicity's president and CEO, as the company announced Sept. 28 that Meyers will assume the new post effective Oct. 2.

In a release issued by Synplicity, the company said outgoing president and CEO Bernie Aronson has joined Kilopass Technology, a semiconductor startup developing scalable, high-density, embedded non-volatile memory. Aronson will be Kilopass' president, reporting to Jack Peng, Kilopass' founder, chairman and CEO.

Synplicity said in addition to assuming a new post at Kilopass technology, Aronson will remain a director on Synplicity's Board of Directors.

The company announced last month that Meyers would be succeeding Aronson.Earlier this month, Synplicity announced that Jim Lovas would assume Meyer's previous responsibilities as the head of North American sales at the company.

In addition to promoting Meyers, the company also announced on Sept. 28 that it has brought back Andy Haines as its vice president of marketing.

Haines left Synplicity in 2002 to become the vice president of marketing at configurable MPU core vendor ARC. He left ARC late last year to join Catalytic Inc.

Derek Meyer then became the vice president of marketing at ARC.

Lisa Schmidt is now the marketing vice president at Catalytic.
