BANGALORE, India — Thomson will reportedly sell its remaining TV picture tubes business to India's Videocon.

According to a Reuters report, the deal means the French company will exit television set production. Last year, Videocon bought Thomson's television tube manufacturing facility in Anagni, Italy.

The deal reportedly will be announced later this week, and would mark Thomson's transition to a media and entertainment company. The sale to Videocon, once a well-known Indian consumer electronics manufacturer, is expected to total about $240 million.
