Happy Holidays! EE Times has come up with its selection of the electronics industry's top ten news stories for 2005.
It's always debatable what should be the number one story for the year. Perhaps one of the bigger stories was the joint flash-memory venture between Intel Corp. and Micron Technology Inc.
It was also a memorable or perhaps a forgettable year for Infineon Technologies AG and Japan's troubled chip makers. Other hot topics were design-for-manufacturing, flat-panel TVs, innovation and mobile video.
Some readers are bound to disagree with our overall choices. EE Times would like to hear from anyone who has a different opinion or even a different list of top news stories for 2005. E-mail us at gleopold@cmp.com, mlapedus@cmp.com and pclarke@cmp.com
