Rumors are still running rampant that Advanced Micro Devices Inc. will acquire ATI Technologies Inc. for about $5.5 billion, according to Bloomberg. The rumors have been persistent for months.

ATI and Nvidia Corp. are the two largest graphics chip makers in the market. But ATI has been falling behind due to product delays.
