WASHINGTON Semiconductor Research Corp. (SRC) is among several U.S. technology companies to receive the National Medal of Technology during a White House ceremony scheduled for Friday (July 27).
President George Bush is scheduled to present national science and technology medals in the East Room of the White House. The ceremony will be Webcast on the White House Web site.
SRC (Research Triangle Park, N.C.) is being recognized for promoting university research in areas such as semiconductor materials and metrology.
SRC CEO Larry Sumney will accept the award on behalf of the organization.
"SRC was established to bolster university research capabilities, and to simultaneously increase the number of available graduating students. It has exceeded expectations in both areas," Wilfred Corrigan, former chairman and CEO of LSI Logic Corp., said in a statement announcing the award.
