LAS VEGAS — Can the world's largest PC company eke out a slice of the growing digital consumer market? That's what we asked Shane Robison, chief strategy and technology officer of Hewlett-Packard Co. on the floor of the Consumer Electronics Show.

To date, PC makers have not been able to unseat consumer giants at the throne of the living room--the digital television. HP has worked closely with Microsoft Corp. on its Media Smart TV and a home server design.

Robison fielded questions about the difficulties HP and other PC companies face, and he shows some of the innovations the company is trying to leverage to find its niche in the digital home.
