EE Times

The Apollo moon landings were the central event in the lives of a generation of engineers who took the technologies spawned by the space program and built entire industries.

On the 40th anniversary of the first manned landing on the Moon, EE Times will celebrate the voyage of Apollo 11 through the stories of those who helped send human beings to another world.

The moon landings were a global event. We'll also survey how Apollo and other international space efforts from Sputnik to the International Space Station have informed and inspired a generation of engineers.

That's why we also want to hear from readers about how Apollo 11 and the five other lunar landings inspired them to become engineers and problem solvers.

Please log on to the discussion forum below, and share your personal connections with Apollo.

Where were you, and what were you doing, when Neil Armstrong took "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"?

Tell us how the Apollo moon landings inspired you to become an engineer.

Prior to the launch of this special EE Times Digital Edition, we will continuously update the EE Times.com "Apollo Forum: Why I became an engineer."

Our special digital edition lands on July 20, 2009.
