NETANYA, Israel — Ofer Shofman, president and CEO of Valor Computerized Systems Ltd. (Yavne, Israel) is retiring from the company. Valor, a provider of design and productivity EDA software for the PCB industry, announced that the company's board of directors has appointed Dan Hoz as acting president and CEO. Valor's EDA software products target three segments in the PCB manufacturing market: design of the physical layout of the PCB, fabrication of the bare PCB, and assembly of PCB components. The company is listed on the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Shofman is one of the founders of Valor, and has been with the company for more than fifteen years, six as president and CEO. Prior to leading the company Shofman managed the company's R&D department, as well as forming and managing subsidiaries in Asia and Japan. Dan Hoz has been Valor's CFO for five years, after four years as CFO of Frontline PCB Solutions, a joint venture between Valor and Orbotech.

In a separate announcement, Valor said it has established a technology partnership with Samsung, for integration of Samsung Techwin's pick-and-place machine interfaces into Valor's software products. The partnership targets enhanced machine interfaces to Samsung Techwin's SMT machines for vPlan, Valor's enterprise-level process engineering tool, and vManage, its manufacturing monitoring and control tool.

vManage will be provided with an enhanced application programming interface (API) for collecting performance and traceability data from Samsung Techwin's machines environment. Both companies are targeting the growing demand in the automotive, medical, and consumer electronics sectors for tracking and tracing of assembled PCBs.
