Avnet, Cinterion expand agreement

LONDON — Avnet Embedded has expanded its distribution agreement with Cinterion Wireless Modules.

Cinterion has had a successful twelve year partnership with UK-based TDC, now a part of Avnet Embeddedand the companies have agreed to distribute the full range of Cinterion modules in France via Axess Technology, now also a part of Avnet Embedded.

"As in other markets, France is seeing burgeoning demand for M2M solutions in a variety of sectors," said Serge Bitoun, general manager at Axess.

"Cinterion is the leading provider of GSM, GPRS, EDGE and 3G modules and terminals and we are delighted to be expanding our existing relationship to include distribution in France," added Martin Brooks, vice president, Avnet Embedded. "Cinterion's products are a key part of our wireless strategy and a natural fit with our design-in, value-added strategy across Europe."

"We're happy to be strengthening our involvement with Avnet Embedded via the appointment of Axess Technology as a strategic distributor in France," said Ulrich Kaindl, Cinterion's VP Sales Southern Europe.
