SEOUL, -- Hynix Semiconductor Inc. reportedly said on Wednesday (February 26, 2003) that one of its two co-chief executives, who both take the title of president, had offered to resign, one day after shareholders approved a key step in a bailout plan for the DRAM maker.
"President Park Sang-ho has tendered his resignation for personal reasons," Reuters reported a Hynix spokesman as saying.
Hynix has been run by Park and Woo Eui-jei since their predecessor, Park Chong-sup, resigned after the Hynix board of the time rejected a $3.4-billion sale of the company to rival DRAM company Micron Technology Inc. in April 2002 (see April 30, 2002, story).
According to Reuters Local media reports said Park Sang-ho's intention to step down was partly linked to conflicts between the two top managers over how to run the company. Park has been in charge of operations while Woo has been responsible for finance, Reuters said.
