European semiconductor veteran joins Systemonic

Silicon Strategies

DRESDEN, Germany --- Hans Rohrer, best known as a European executive with National Semiconductor and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, has joined the board of directors of Systemonic AG.

Rohrer is president and chief executive officer of Acuid Corp. a company based in Scotland with engineering resources in St Petersburg, Russia that is developing I/O cells. Systemonic is a digital signal processing startup in Dresden, Germany, that is applying DSP technology to multi-protocol, multi-band wireless LAN baseband applications.

"As Systemonic strengthens its leadership position and solidifies its technological advantage in the fast-paced and rapidly expanding wireless arena, Hans Rohrer's strategic experience and foresight will be invaluable," said Ruediger Stroh, Systemonic's chief executive officer, in a statement.

Prior to joining Acuid, Rohrer spent three years as European president of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, and two decades with National Semiconductor Europe.

"With an innovative technology approach, a seasoned executive team, and strong financial backing, Systemonic is well-positioned to seize the considerable market opportunity at hand," said Rohrer.
