SAN MATEO, Calif. - Netlist-to-GDSII design tool company Monterey Design Systems and physical library vendor Artisan Components Inc. have teamed up to create an integrated offering that combines Monterey's design tools and Artisan libraries optimized and certified for TSMC's 0.13-, 0.15- and 0.18-micron processes.
According to Dave Reed, vice president of marketing with Monterey, the companies created the offering to reduce the time and cost of implementing a physical design flow.
Reed said that users wishing to use a customer owned tooling (COT) flow (do their own physical design) are required to acquire libraries. "What we've done is make it easier for COT customers, ensuring the libraries are Dolphin safe - that they work with our Dolphin tool environment," said Reed.
Neal Carney, Artisan's vice president of marketing said the company worked with Monterey to ensure Monterey's Monterey Technology Format files are optimized for TSMC 0.13-, 0.15- and 0.18-micron processes.
"We provided them deeper access to our libraries to allow them to create MTF files for TSMC processes," said Carney.
The combined Monterey-Artisan solution is scheduled to be available September 30, 2002. The Dolphin safe libraries can be acquired through Artisan Components.
