WEST CALDWELL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 2003--Ricoh Corporation, the Dependable Digital(TM) output company, today unveiled the Ricoh Aficio CL3000, a compact color laser printer that brings workgroup performance onto the desktop.

With print speeds of 16.9 pages per minute (ppm) in color and 21 ppm in black & white, the CL3000 is the ideal solution for customers looking a for a more productive alternative to their color inkjet and slow color laser printers.

Designed to support workgroups as well as individuals, the CL3000 is network-ready, so that it just needs to be plugged in and turned on to get brilliant color and professional looking documents. The maximum resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi of the CL3000 virtually guarantees optimum image quality.

"Ricoh understands that networking and advanced connectivity options are critical factors in seamless integration into today's workgroup," said Hede Nonaka, vice president of marketing for Ricoh Corporation. "By configuring the CL3000 with all of the necessary parts and components, Ricoh is making it as simple and convenient as possible for customers to be productive. The value of the product is not only in the printing capabilities, but also in the product installation, set-up and maintenance."

Besides fast printing in a compact unit, the Aficio CL3000 has other features that provide significant user benefits:

Networking Alternatives - The Aficio CL3000 comes standard with Ethernet, USB and a Parallel port. There is also an option for IEEE 1394, a high-speed serial connection as well as two wireless options to choose from. Besides providing complete printing mobility, the wireless connectivity options offer seamless integration into the existing network.

The IEEE 802.11b Wireless LAN supports data transfer rates of up to 11 MBps. Bluetooth(R) is the other wireless alternative, and is a low cost wireless communication tool.

Throughput and Productivity - The CL3000 can be configured with up to three paper trays for virtually continuous printing. The 50,000-page duty cycle is more than ample to support the peak printing needs of even the most demanding workgroup.

Combining Ecology and Economy: Energy Saving printer operation were once tied to long warm-up times. But with the CL3000 users have both. Its Energy Saver mode uses less than 10 watts, and its short warm-up time means almost no waiting, even from a cold start.

With an aggressive cost of acquisition and operation, the Aficio CL3000 is easily affordable, for the workgroup or individual.
