Tektronix readies 4-GHz scope with SiGe circuitry

Tektronix Inc. turned up the knob in the billion-dollar digital oscilloscope market this week by introducing the fastest instrument to date — a 4-GHz scope that is the first to use silicon germanium circuitry. The announcement came a day after competitor LeCroy Corp. announced two new color-panel scopes targeting the heart of the market — 500 MHz and 1 GHz.
